Doing more with less, Elate

Our goal is to create products that meet or exceed our standards for sustainability, performance and traceability. Elate is no exception, our most carbon efficient office chair yet.

Years of experience designing, engineering and manufacturing office chairs have given us an accumulated understanding of what makes a chair work. From comfort and performance to how it is used, transported, maintained and eventually dismantled.

Elate is the result of that knowledge being redefined. Designed for simplicity, Elate strips the task chair back. The result is a chair that delivers comfort and functionality, while keeping affordability ay its core.

But simplicity doesn't mean compromise.

A process of refinement.

From the earliest stages of development, dematerialisation was at the forefront, asking where less material could be used without compromising performance, durability and user experience.

Using less material also means using less weight, reducing Elate's reliance on virgin materials. At 34.7kgCO2e, Elate is our most carbon-efficient office chair.

Design decisions down to how each component is joined was considered with longevity inb mind. The seat foam is secured by an upholstery plate, with the fabric draw strung around. At the back, the self-supportive mesh is fed into the seat frame using keder rails. Together, these key elements eliminate the need for adhesives, making Elate entirely glueless and easier to disassemble for repair and maintenance.

Circulation

At the end of life, Elate's materials can be easily separated and segregated, making the chair 99.9% recyclable. Its design for disassembly also supports refurbishment and remanufacturing, extending its life while keeping valuable materials in circulation.

Simplicity, elevated

Elate isn't about adding more, it's about making refined choices, using less material, simplifying construction and designing for a longer more circular life.

Doing more with less.
